Afrobeats dance refers to the hot contemporary dance styles emerging alongside the Afrobeats music genre, blending influences from West and Southern Africa.

Do I need prior dance experience?

No experience is required for this beginner-friendly course! We’ll start from the foundations and steadily build up choreography and skills.

Is Afrobeats dance similar to other African styles?

Afrobeats pulls from various traditional and urban African styles like Azonto, Kpakpakpa, Kuduro and Ndombolo. You’ll learn elements originating across the diaspora.

What kind of music will we dance to?

Get ready for high-energy Afrobeats tracks by artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema and other stars mixing influences like Ghanaian highlife, Nigerian afrohouse, and South African house.

Do I need any special shoes or attire?

Just come ready to sweat and move! Wear flexible clothing you can stretch and groove in. Dance sneakers or shoes with solid traction/support are recommended.
